In an update published on 28 September 2026, NIBSS reported that its National Payment Stack had processed more than 100 million transactions.

Commenting on the milestone, Premier Oiwoh described it as a collective achievement in building Nigeria’s payment infrastructure. He connected the platform’s development with financial inclusion and the resilience of the wider financial system.

The announcement highlighted ISO 20022 compliance and NIBSS’s work with the Central Bank of Nigeria, commercial banks, microfinance banks, payment service banks and fintechs. Its emphasis was on continued cooperation to make payments more secure and accessible.
