An announcement published by TheCable on 13 October 2026 described the technology partnership between NIBSS and Transactility supporting the National Payment Stack. It explained how NIBSS combined its own development work with technology from the jPOS ecosystem.
The announcement identified Transactility’s jPTS switch as part of the platform’s foundation. It described access to the underlying code as a way for NIBSS to adapt the system while retaining control of its architecture and future development.
Commenting on the partnership, Premier Oiwoh said NPS had been designed around the scale and requirements of Nigeria’s payments market. He highlighted the flexibility to keep developing the platform as those requirements change.
